How long have you worked as an Early Childhood Educator? 21 years.  I had previous experience in a child care centre and have been operating a licensed day home for 13 years.

What do younjoy best about your job? Not being confined to 4 walls, I get to create and enjoy the magic of childhood, the laughter and fun moments, and offering children a safe, consistent environment where children can explore and learn brings me a great sense of pride.

What is the most challenging part of your job?  Trying to fulfill requirements of my Agency, licensing and accreditation.

What involvement do you have with an interdisciplinary team? In the past I have had speech, occupational and physical therapists come for sessions or observe a child. Did get a Behavioral Specialist involved with one boy who had Big Emotions.

​

How do you involve the children in the community?  We use lots of community programs, story time at library, kindergym at the YMCA, Messy Makers at McMan Services. We also use local parks and trails.
